I honestly do not know how E.J. does it, but every book of hers ends up messing with my heart. After reading ”The Dreamer” and getting proof of her amazing writing skills, I knew ”The Divide” was going to be just as awesome as the first book. Guess what? I was wrong! Because this book was absolutely gut-wrenching and full of emotions, love and hope! Thank you, E.J, thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving birth to such a masterpice! This time I’m not going to bother with summing up what happened in the second installement of ”The Dreamland” series, because so many things occured, it would take me a day or two to explain everything. That is the reason why I am going to focus on talking about a few of the many aspects why ”The Divide” is actually way better than ”The Dreamer”. Leave me the pleasure to begin with Molly and Dev’s relationship.
If in the first book I could not decide which team I belong to (even though Dev had a little bit more of my love than Jared), in this one I completely fell in love with Dev from the very beginning. He is one of the best male characters I’ve come across in all the books I’ve read till now that deal with romance. His strength, both physical and emotional, his feelings for Molly and his desire to protect her with his life were amazing and heart melting. The ending shattered me in pieces and I even shed a few tears for him, for Molly, for everything they were and everything they MUST continue to be. Also, there was no surprise for me to encounter the same badass Molly from the previous book. If anything, she became stronger and more confident in her own abilities. She and Dev were like liquid fire whenever they were together, no matter if they were having a fight or the exact opposite *wink*.
I stay pressed against the solid structure as the doors open .
“I’d get some air if I were you. From the feel of it, you seem a little hot and bothered.”
Another thing I love about ”The Divide” is the fact that it continued to make me feel like I was seeing a movie on the big screen, not only reading a book. The scenes were described wonderfully, everything played out so vividly in my own head that I could not get enough of E.J’s imagination. Like I have already said, I have no idea how this woman does it. She must be secretly a ninja unicorn.
The other characters are worth mentioning as well, especially Becca and Rae. These two, together or apart, were amazing and made me laugh so much throughout the entire novel. I really hope that their story will end well in the final book. They deserve their own happy ever after (#shmoopparade, anyone?). Oh, and let’s not forget about Aveline, Dev’s Nocturna partner. She went from being a cold ass bitch to a very likeable character.
I’m pretty sure I left out many other thoughts that I would have liked to share with you all, but I guess that what was of great importance has been mentioned. Without further ado, I highly recommend you to read this amazing, action-packed series and I have no doubt that you will love it as much as I do. While you pick them up and devour them, I’m going to impatiently wait for ”The Destined” to come out and destroy me completely. Because if there’s a thing I know for sure, is that E.J. Mellow will thunderstruck us with it.

The Divide The Dreamland Series Book II Volume 2 EJ Mellow 9780996211437 Books Reviews
I loved this second book. I love the characters and the world building and how the tension keeps climbing. Can't wait to read the next one.
This series is really well done ! The world building and characters are amazing ! Each book hooks you more and more !
Very 'girly' book 2 in the Dreamer series. See my review for 'The Dreamer' if your interested in what I think. its just more of the same.. Im glad it was cheep.......
A lot more fighting occurs in this book. More secrets are revealed. Love also grows. Last of all- there is a shocking ending.
What a fast paced and powerfully written story--full of great visual images, believable yet "out of this world" action and emotional sparks flying everywhere!! I liked The Divide even more than The Dreamer!! E,J, Mellow draws you in and it's hard to put the book down as you can't wait to see how the action and characters unfolds. I really like the characters and find the premise of having to decide between the worlds of waking and sleeping so intriguing. If you haven't started the Dreamland Series, don't hesitate--you will NOT be dissappointed and you will definitely be hooked! Now I anxiously await the third and final book to get here.
Fantastic follow up to the first book (The Dreamer), and everything that a sequel should be. We are brought deeper into Terra Somniorum and start to learn more about the complex and beautiful world that the Nocturna inhabit. The characters develop and grow more, and we get to see some interesting back story for our main heartthrob. The ending was--of course--a cliffhanger, and I am anxiously awaiting the final book in the series. Keep up the great work, E.J. Mellow!
Wow... My head is still spinning, having just finished reading about 20 minutes ago. There are so many amazing things I could say about this book I'll limit it to just three. Fair warning, small spoilers (nothing too crazy though).
1. Whereas the first felt like a combination of The Matrix, Twilight, and Fifty Shades of Grey, this book took on an Avatar the Last Airbender meets Assassins Creed vibe accompanied by the blood pumping romance.
2. I felt like E.J. was reading my mind!! There were a few times where I was lulled into a false sense of security; I had grown accustomed to the pace and knew what to expect. However, right at the moment where I started to go on auto-pilot, there was a shift both in plot and even style. This made putting down the book so difficult.
3. Many many book twos in a trilogy experience a sophomore slump, if you will. This book however, much like The Two Towers, was even better than the prequel. Setting the bar high is tough, but raising it is even tougher. Kudos!!
Can't wait for the third installment.
